I was so happy when Jaxon got into Scooby Doo. Not the newer, “lame” Scooby Doo, but the Hanna Barbera 1970’s Scooby Doo! He is officially the third generation to enjoy it. Naturally, we decided to throw his birthday with a Scooby Doo theme at the Arizona Museum of Natural History,AKA the dinosaur museum.

The Food

I ordered Scooby Snacks and the mega pack Scooby Doo Fruit Snacks from Amazon Prime, because I had been too busy between Christmas, work, getting Jax to school, and blogging, to run to the store.

We usually do subs each year for birthday parties, or celebrations, so this year was no different! My mom made Scooby and Shaggy sized sandwiches! Jax of course, had a sunbutter and jelly sub sandwich.

I grabbed this awesome edible sheet cake topper from Etsy. My mom made the cake – because she’s awesome, and it is 100% vegan.

Party Paper Goods

I ordered our Scooby Doo paper plates, napkins, and cups from you guessed it – Amazon Prime. I did pick up the plastic dog dish bowls and some extra plates/cups through Facebook marketplace as well! I found this HUGE Scooby Doo helium balloon from Party City for only $10, and 2 weeks later it’s still inflated!!

  6. I can’t believe you guys made the cake with the topper. It totally looks like it came from a bakery. Everything looks like it turned out great. Super fun idea.

  7. Love this scooby dooby doo theme! I grew up watching scooby doo and it’s great to see other kids loving it just as much. The snacks are so cute especially the “doggy bones.”

  8. I might be one of the few kids who weren’t into cartoons growing up. I’d watch some on Saturday morning, but I was never a Scooby fan. My siblings were though so I know they would have loved a Scooby Doo themed party. I do think it’s cool that your son loves the old school version.
