As a parent I love to gift experiences, not just toys. I hear all the time of parents having too many toys around the house, and not enough money to afford music, dance, gymnastics, karate, classes. I’ve complied a list of a few things that I would like and think other parents would enjoy for their children as well. Don’t forget to click the above image to pin this and come back to it later. Let me know your favorites from my list in the comments!
1. Swimming Lessons
No matter what the age, swimming lessons are important. At least to teach kids to swim to the edge or float if they ever fall in. Especially when you live somewhere like Arizona or California and there are pools everywhere.
2. Movie Theater Gift Card and Popcorn Vouchers
This one is good for older children, even teenagers.
3. Highlights Magazine
I LOVED Highlights growing up and the hidden picture puzzles inside. There are also a few other children magazine subscriptions out there as well. We get Ranger Jr. Magazines delivered monthly, which teach Jax about different animals.
4. The Little Gym Gift Certificates
I’m partial to this one, since Jaxon has been attending for four years. These classes are great for parents to meet other parents, kids to work on their cooperation or socialization skills, and motor skills. The Little Gym is internationally owned and are all over the US, and world.
5. Children’s Museum Membership
We have several different children’s museums around Phoenix; this is a good one for parents to ask family members for their children. It’s always nice to have a museum membership if it’s too hot to go out in the Summer, or too cold in the winter!
6. Subscription Gift Box
These days there are plenty of children/baby toy monthly subscription boxes. They can be educational toys or just for fun.
7. Children’s Watch
Help your toddler or child keep on time with their very own watch like mommy or daddy. This can be a good gift if your child is having trouble with transitions or potty training too!
8. Legoland Discovery Center Membership
This is one we were gifted last year for Christmas. There’s not just a Legoland in California, but we go to the discovery center in Arizona. You can find more centers in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Michigan, San Antonio, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Columbus, even Toronto.
9. Music Classes
Jax attends piano lessons, which his grandparents help pay for, and they’ve been amazing for him. Kindermusik or Musicology are a few great options for babies!
10. Sporting Event Tickets
This is another one that would be great for older kids or teenagers. Get them their favorite sports jersey or a team they’re into and a pair of tickets to make it a great memory!
